Walking in the Rain

We've been busy in Rome this week, following Ozayr and his students around on various tours and sketching visits.

We had an amazing 3 hour walk around the Jewish Ghetto with a colleague of Ozayr's who lives here. It is an area so rich in history, a sad one in the past - as the name implies, the Jews of Rome were forced to live in this restricted area of about 4 blocks until about 150 years ago. One of Ozayr's students did a nice post about the visit here. Anyway, now it is one of the most vibrant places in all of Rome, full of food and culture that is uniquely its own. The best meal that we had in Rome was in the Ghetto last year, so for sure we will be back! We look forward to explore the area even more.

PS. It was during this walking tour/torrential downpour that we invested in two more umbrellas! (for the 2 particularly short students you see standing there...)
